Devils Lake State Park is celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year! As a part of the Centennial festivities, the Chicago Mountaineering Club along with the park management, is putting on a presentation entitled, "History Of Climbing at Devils Lake" at 7:30pm on August 5th. Club members will present the history of rock climbing at the lake from the early days in the late twenties with the first routes put up by the Stetners, up through the present. Club members will talk about evolution of the sport and how Devils Lake was pivotal in developing many world class climbers during the last few decades. The presentation will be held at the Outdoor Pavilion of the Northern Lights Campground.

This date also corresponds with the club's largest summer event, the Old Timers / New Climbers outing. As many as 80 members old and young alike will be in attendance at our campground for the event. Many of the members that will be attending have been involved with the CMC for over 40 years so they will be able to mix and mingle with the audience at the presentation, provide stories, and answer questions.

Hope you can attend!
