So It's time to get a new sleeping bag. My old one is worn out, and the funk just never seems to get washed out anymore. Plus it's been shedding down for years, I doubt the fill is anywhere near what it was new 15 years ago

I am looking to replace it with a Synthetic bag, rated to 0ºF temps.
I had been looking at the Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina. But, I seem to have alot of gear by them, and I don't really want to look like I was sponsored by them or something. Not that this is that important, but I wanted some opinions from SP before I make a solid choice.

So what do you use, and what is good and what sucks about your bag. I know, I am going to have a weight penalty for going with Synthetic, but for the climbing and backpacking I do, I always seem to head out in the rain (and it rains here alot in the PNW) so I wanted something that would not be compromised by getting wet.

I had a Marmot 0F synthetic bag that performed well. I believe their latest model is the Trestles.

Yeah, I looked at that a little. The price is really good, but the weight seems a little high. Also, some of the reviews state that it does not compress down very small. I know, I know, it's not going to compress as small as down. But, from what I have seen with some of the new synthetics, like primaoft (I have a jacket with that fill) they compress as small as down, and feel like they have the same weight.

Ya, most others are in the 3.5 to 4.5 pound range if you trust their temperature ratings. Sierra Designs has the Nahche at 4 lb 1 oz, Integral Designs the Emporor at 4 lb 14 oz, North Face the Snowshoe at 3 lb 8 oz and MHW the Ultralimina at 3 lb 5 oz.

I've got a down bag by Montbell, and it's my single favorite piece of gear. I can only imagine that their synthetic stuff would be just as awesome. I find that its warmth way exceeds its rating.

Also... my first bag every was a Sierra Designs synth. It was a good bag for a great price, and I've had really good experiences when sending gear in to them for maintenance.
