Approach shoes in the White Mountains?

I'm looking at the Kayland Crux Grip... I think the extra traction would be useful on rocks, but I don't know if they would have enough support.

NH... Sorry about that.

When I went through the NH Whites years ago (1974-94), I wore just heavy, plain-vibram-soled boots. I never came across anything that hinted at a need for sticky rubber. There was a lot of boulder-hopping, and decent ankle support is appreciated for that activity.

Wherever.

I've had some other people tell me ankle support is good to have, especially for carrying heavier loads... Can anybody recommend a good boot for 3-season NE hiking?

I've never had problems in the Whites with my La Sportiva Glacier boots. Then again, I use those boots most anywhere. Definetly a solid purchase imo.
