Go to this forum and you tell me? I recenty heard that 60-80% of North Face clothing products found on ebay are not authentic. This website is dedicated to the topic. What do ppl think about this? Is it fake?

North Face Baltaro

The pictures just don't seem right.? I have the TNF Baltaro which has GORE DRYLOFT on one sleeve. I don't think a model was made with Gore Tex. Typically there should be a clear pocket (for watch/altimeter) on the upper arm of one sleeve. In addition, the pictures show what seems to be velcro on the bottom of the hood, which I don't believe should be there. While I like the internet, some things still call for seeing and touching.

The embroidered logo looks badly done. I'd say it's a fake.

I have an older Baltoro (2002?), though not here in front of me, and the cut seems slightly different, though mine is all black, so the lack of contrast makes it a bit hard to tell.

Note that between total fake and total genuine (bought in the NF store downtown etc) there is a grey area where genuine NF (or Marmot etc) products escape the 'system' and can be bought cheaply, especially in China or wherever they were made. Some stuff on eBay is this product, though it can be hard to tell.

I agree with both of the previous posters. Going back to mine (bought new in 2000), Baltoro's were made with dryloft. The cut on the one posted also seems too short, but that could just be the photo.
