Helmets For Tall Heads?

I'm having trouble finding a helmet that fits my head. The problem isn't overall size, I can easily get a circumference that fits, but my head is tall - Petzl Elios and Altios sit up too tall (the side straps fixtures come to the middle of my ears - even when adjusted with all the strap out).

Unfortunately there's only one shop that carries helmets in my town and I've tried all they carry without luck, so I may have to order online. Someone recently suggested the Edelrid Ultralight as one helmet that fits tall heads well. Do any of you who have tall heads use that helmet, or have other suggestions?

Thanks

I've heard of fatheads, bigheads, and pinheads but I don't think I've ever heard of a tallhead before. I have a bighead and wear a Petzl Ecrin-Roc, which is one of the few helmets that will accomodate a 7 5/8 hat size. Maybe the extra strap length that allows that helmet to fit around a bigger head circumference will stretch enough in the vertical dimension to allow a tallhead to be comfortably fitted. Anyway, check one out...

I had the same problem and the Grivel Salamander is the only one that works for me.

+3 ecrin roc is probably the most adjustable helmet on the market.

I have a helmet question. I'm in the process of researching and buying one. I have only used the Petzl ECRIN ROC, and it seemed nice. Anyone have other they prefer over that one? I want one I can use for rock climbing and Mountaineering. Something light, and not blocking my view.

for mountaineering, the ecrin roc [from what i understand] will only protect you from something like rock fall, were you are only worried about a single impact, a decision you will probably regret during a thousand foot fall downd a slope and hitting a few ledges, just saying. Grivel makes nice ones ive heard.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I couldn't find a Grivel Salamander to try on.

I finally ended up with a Petzl Meteor III. While not perfect, it fit lower on my tall head than the Petzl Ecrin Rock.
