Planning to get them to climbs in Cascades and Aconcagua. Should I go 1/2 size up or full size up from my running shoe size (Vasque Velocity, 10.5M US, 44 EU). I wearing La Sportiva Makalu 44 and been using La Sportiva K2S 44.

Don't know if this really helps, but my invernos are U.S. size 10

my regular hiking boots (Rocky Lynx's) are size 10 (I have thenm sized big)

my running shoes are size 10 saucony's

My regular shoe converse chuck taylors are size 9

My rock shoes red chilles sausalitos are UK 9.5 Eur 44 I can where them with wool socks.

My complaint about the scarpas are that they are a little tight on the sides of the ankles, other than that they fit me perfect.

Hope that helps!

1) They are usually sold in UK sizes. UK 10=US 11, make sure you know which they are marked in when you order!

2) Order up at least half a size. If you are planning on wearing two pairs of socks or liner/VBL/sock combo, definitely go with a full size. If you wear a thin liner and a regular sock, or just mountaineering socks, and don't have particularly chunky feet, half size is plenty. They are high volume.

3) They shells are sized in whole sizes only. A US 11.5 will have the same shell as a US 11, but with thinner liners.

4) Don't sweat it too much. They're big chunky things and half a size isn't make or break.

Here's a great summary on sizing:

+1 on the half size lager. It really is not much and it's way better than having it be too small.

Good article.

I've got wide feet and I also sized up half a size with my Invernos. I'll wear a liner sock with the Patagucci Mountaineering socks and the fit is perfect.

I wear a 10 1/2 in everything and tried some 11 inverno's and they were much too tight. I ended up with 12's and i'm pretty happy with them. The inverno sizing is EU as someone above said so keep that in mind. hope this helps!

I own a pair of Scarpa Inverno size UK 13 (U.S. 14).

They fit more like a U.S. 13 rather than a U.S. 14 though.

I wear 12 or 12.5 in everything, but size 13 Invernos are tight with one pair of medium socks. So, try them on first.

Got size 11 (UK) at REI with high alt inner boots. They feel little bit large, but I expect that the feet are bigger when used. Hope I left a room for blood circulation. Will be checking them in action shortly this spring.
