2 People in a Big Agness Seedhouse SL Tent?

I am considering this tent...but it says it is only 50" wide...I am curious if anyone here has it and has slept in it with another person and how was it? 50" wide seems a bit small for two grown adults.

it'll be intimate.. :-D

but so long as you don't have a panicky case of homofobes, i don't think it'd be too close. just keep in mind most camp pads are upwards of 26", so that could be the biggest issue.

just guessing, though.

Extremely comfy for one person, a little snug for two.

Anita, the other problem I've had with this tent is that the mesh walls fray very easily and seem to be quite delicate. I know it's a weight savings, but I can't say it's the most durable tent...

Keep in mind that standard foam pad is 20" wide.

Thanks so much everyone! We use the Big Agnes pads which are 25" wide..so we would be wall to wall in this tent and no room for gear or movement really...even if he is my hubby for many years!! we sleep in a CA King..I think it is going to be way to small.

Laura..thank you..yes very comfy for one person, would be an ideal solo tent! Interesting about the mesh fraying, wonder if you contacted them they would send you a new tent, but sometimes delicate fabrics can do that if they are not stitiched properly.

I bought a TarpTent a few years ago...I did not realize how much I like a freestanding tent, and I prefer a rain fly over the main tent body....so I have now been researching for another one..also looking at the Copper Spur UL3 the floor size on the UL2 at one end is two narrow with the two 25' pads..so have to look at a 3 person tent, also want to be able to sit up in it.
Thank you all again, I appreciate your comments!

Just get the Seedhouse 3. It's 62" wide and >6lbs so that may work for you if someone wants to carry the extra weight.

Had the SL2 for a few years now. Perfect as a solo tent. It's fine as a two person tent, albeit you might be spooning your buddy :)

I have an Integral Designs MKI Lite which is 46" wide. It fits two BIG shouldered climbers, but we sleep head to toe. Backpacks containing ropes, rack, helmets, crampons, ice tools, basically anything we don't care about freezing stays outside.

Nemo Morpho 2P. 64" wide with 39 sq.ft. living space. It only weighs 5lbs too. No poles cuz it's got 2 air beams to hold it up. Very cool!

I've wondered about the air beams, they seem gimmicky, do they actually support the tent well in high winds or heavy snow? I'd be afraid of popping one.

That is the tent I am looking for-I have an ID Mega Sola bivy( bit bigger than a bivy, actually) that has been fantastic, but I am wanting a bit more space...

A little over 3 pounds trail dressed and will certainly take most anything that you can weather personally. We use it as a regular Spring-Fall trip tent for two clients as well as guides.

The beams are bomber. The tents are tested on top of a vehicle driving 70mph - they hold up. You pump it up with a foot pump pretty quickly. It does look dorky, but very well worth it once you're inside.
