How old is too old for a pair of Millet Everest boots?

A local store has these 2008 Millet Everest boots that have been sitting on the shelf (practically as a decoration) for the last four years. I live in east TN, so the market for these isn't very high.

I'm going with some friends to hike up Aconcagua in December and was considering buying these boots for the trip. I think they're overkill for the mountain, but at $399, the savings over the Baruntse's I was planning on buying seems too good to pass up.

Would these boots still be good for my trip even after sitting for 4 years? They are the correct size and fit well.

Would you wear them after you've owned them for 4 years? I would.

But they really are overkill for Aconcagua and could cause problems due to hot, sweaty feet.

Plus, Aco would destroy those bots! Pretty soft soles if I recall
