Nice weather in May finally allowed some more serious climbing.

After driving through the Bad Rock Canyon on the way to climb we finally stopped there and climbed Teakettle Mountain.

Although it ONLY stands at 5,936 feet in elevation do not let that deter you from climbing Teakettle or think it is not a challenge.

It is quite a climb and is comparable to many climbs in Glacier due to the cliffs as well as the loose scree. Nonetheless the views were spectacular and the climb of 2,800 feet was overall enjoyable.

I submit to you that even though the ranges just north of the border are called the Galton and MacDonald Ranges there are part of the same corridor of peaks. If it weren't for the International Border they would all have the same name.

I am also looking for more information and photos from this area. It is amazing how difficult it is to find information on the Canadian peaks. Perhaps someone has a better source????

I can't seem to leave a comment on the Whitefish Range page. It looks great. I've climbed Tuchuck but only have one photo (that might not even be of Tuchuck) so am not much help in filling out the range.

Yes indeed! After dealing with the rubble (and damage) left from a Class 5 Avalanche in January, plowing through 75' of snow (not a typo!) at the Big Drift, after putting up with all the vaguaries of Northern Rockies weather since early April, after confronting the combined issues of snow and terrain, Logan Pass is open! Going-to-the-Sun Road is free and clear! First weekend open...bye.

Recently completed Summit Mountain (8,770 ft.) and Little Dog Mountain (8,610 ft) near Marias Pass in GNP.

I am wondering if anyone out there in SP land knows the story about the boots that are by the summit cairn on Summit Mountain?

Jim Egan told me there is a story about them but he did not know it. If you know the story please PM me so I can add it to the page.

Dragon's Tail - A nice summit in the Logan Pass area of GNP. Not climbed as often as some others, but quite worthy—check it out!
