Can it be done?

Should it be done?

Most importantly, has anyone here done it?

Thanks in advance for any input/opinions/stories.

Specifically, I'm wondering how bad of an idea it would be to attempt in a Toyota Camry.

Back in 1998, I drove to Kintla Lake and Bowman Lake in a Chrysler Sebring. The last few miles get a little bumpy, but I had to trouble. But then again, I was in a rental, not my own car.

Rory, Sean drove his little hyundai (with a canoe strapped ontop of it) down that road just fine. Although, it was later in the season when conditions were a bit dry. If it's early season and snowmelt runnoff is all over the road, try your best to avoid the washouts. I would say you would be able to do just fine if the conditions are right. However, if you cannot make it to some point, turn around and park your car in Polebridge and put up a thumb, you don't want to park anywhere on that road because it's so narrow and the chances of blocking somebody is inevitable.

If the road fails, but you can access places around bowman or quartz lake, make rainbow or carter a backup plan! They are well worth the trip (if you're into paddling or a semi-ruff bushwack along the shore).

The Camry will make the drive in to Kintla Lake just fine. The road is narrow and there are usually numerous potholes and after a rain there are water holes. Best advise is to drive slow. Fast drivers coming the opposite direction will often be met at blind corners. There are a few narrow spots where one of the passing vehicles will have to pull into a pullout. Did I suggest driving slow? That's always a good idea.
