Reposting someone else's pic - protocol?

Hi all,
I have recently become fascinated (obsessed?) with finding out the names of the background peaks in some of the incredible Himalayan pics here on SP. I have started researching a gorgeous panorama taken from just below the summit plateau of Cho Oyu, originally posted by an SP member named "snowflake". I mentioned that I might do this in a post under the pic, and I posted a PM to his SP account asking for permission to do this. I have not heard back yet. I understand that folks come and go here, and we all have busy lives, so I don't feel in the least bit slighted or ignored. However, I have put a considerable amount of time into annotating the pano, and I believe that many SP members would find the results very interesting. Plus I'm just plain proud of the results, too!
I'm not finished yet, but I will be sooner or later. I have two questions: #1 - Is there a way to post to many SP'ers at once? Is there a forum topic for requests like this? I'm hoping that someone who is currently active here might know snowflake and let him know what's been asked.
#2 - Is there an amount of good-faith effort I can make to contact snowflake, after which I can repost the annotated version of this shot without violating SP protocol?
Of course - I would fully credit him in the caption for the repost, I'm not trying to steal anyone's property (or glory!) here. I just think that many SP'ers would enjoy the annotated version, and I would be disappointed if it went unposted because the original poster was no longer active.
Thanks in advance for your comments, info, and advice.
