New to Site

I am a new registered member to the site, though I have very frequently over the years surfed through countless info and pages in search of new and great places to climb and hike. Are there any pointers for easy navigation? Primary what I'm wanting to do right now is upload pictures. I have tried making an album, but I only have my one profile picture uploaded and that is all I can choose from. I have a feeling my lack of knowledge in the HTML department is a huge factor! Is there an easy/efficient way to upload numerous photos? This is what I want to do first, but eventually I want to make routes, and lots of them that I have noticed are not here!

That brings me to my second area of questions. There are pages that I have frequented that I could add good information to without the necessity of creating a brand new page. For a specific example, the Colorado National Monument. I have many climbing routes, hiking roots, and pictures galore that I would like to add to page(s) already in existence. What is the ettiquite for adding information, or do I just go for it?

Thanks
Anna

Hi there,

The easiest way to create an album is to click the 'Create Page' link near the top of the screen, choose the 'Album' button and then proceed from there with no HTML involved. You'll see a lot of other object types you can create too, such as routes and so on.

Having created objects you can attach them to other pages using the 'Attach/Detach' link that will appear at the top of your newly constructed pages.

In instances where there's an existing page and you just want to attach an image there'll be a link to do that on the left hand side.

It may be worth drawing your attention to the fairly well hidden but comprehensive FAQ page section on creating and submitting content to SP: http://www.summitpost.org/faq.html#chapter_33. It should answer most of your questions.

Sounds like you've got a lot you're eager to bring to the table, looking forward to it.

Cheers.

Thanks! I searched and did not see that page, I appreciate it very much. Is there a way to mass upload pics instead of one by one?
