HTML help, removing white space

Can you help me combine the Table of Contents in with the first section "Mustagh Ata, China Post-Trip Reflections" of the trip report that I just created:
http://www.summitpost.org/view_object.p ... irm_post=7
Alternatively, would it be easier to add a photo in the white space to the left of the TOC? Although I don't know any HTML code, I spent a lot of time on this trip report and would like it to be as appealing as possible. The extra white space really kills the beginning of the article.

Also, thanks in advance to anyone who has any other feedback on the trip report.

Sincerely,
Bryan

The trip report appears to have a little bit of formatting issues. The second and third image of the TR has a separation from the image and caption. More formatting issues can be seen when hovering over the gear images near the bottom. Let me know if you need help sorting this out. Also I suggest attaching the images of the report to the trip report itself. Just giving you a friendly critique. 8)

Thanks Josh! I don't know anything about html, but want the trip report to be as aesthetic as possible. I would love to hear of any additional tips.

Thanks!

Right now I'm pretty tired from today's trip. But tomorrow I can help you with this (later in the day due to homework). :)

Okay I fixed up the code in the trip report. There was a lot of DIV containers inside the report which is unusual. At one point when I was cleaning the code the image box went through the rest of the page! I fixed it in a jiffy. 8) Then I changed the large images to source off bigger images so that they wouldn't look blurry. Spacing was also fixed as well as centering the video. I would have explained it but it would have been a bit technical. If one DIV container wasn't closed, it could have flowed through the entire report like it did for a moment when I was fixing the code.

Your all good to go now. :) If you have any more questions, let me know. I had a few minutes to spare (mid-night is in 3 minutes).

I've noticed that during editing a page in the new editor, pressing "Enter" often adds DIV containers to the underlying HTML code instead of simply inserting a BR. Whether that makes any difference to the appearence of the page depends on the editing that you may do afterwards, and also on the browser with which you view the result. Now, I don't know in what situations this happens, or why, but every since I learned about this, I've resorted to pressing "Shft+Enter" instead. That always only gives me a BR.
