That's basically correct, but once in awhile exceptions are made. We just don't want to see postings made, memberships created, or materials submitted where the goal is to advertise a product or service.
It's pretty obvious that the stuff we deleted on this thread was created for commercial purposes.
From the "Terms of Service":
"Post any Content that promotes pyramid schemes, chain letters or disruptive commercial messages or advertisements, or anything else prohibited by law or these Terms of Service. Commercial advertisements are not welcome on SummitPost and are usually deleted quickly. This includes guiding services and other climbing-related enterprises.
