I'd like to avoid creating a dup to this page. The owner hasn't been online for about a year, and didn't respond my e-mails offering cooperation earlier. The page is not bad, but I could improve it.

Thanks Gangolf. I'll begin working on the page as soon as I returned from... Germany :)

So... if someone has left SP*, we can be added to act as owners of a page in their place?

(*We'll assume at least a year since "last active")

I know of a few pages that really could use some spiffying up; the owner has been off SP for 16 months now.

The procedure is to write to the owner and wait for a reply (2 weeks is a reasonable time). Don't PM, rather use email. If there's no reply PM the elves.

Another Island Peak dupicate.

http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock ... -peak.html

The member is from Chicago (which is in California of course) and conveniently post the following information on his page:

My trekking service provider, Himalayan Glacier Trekking and its staffs (guides and porters) were very sincere to care our group. They seemed they wanted us to achieve full satisfaction from the trekking and climbing.

With a nice link too.

So we decided to keep the Island Peak duplicate?

http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/588448/island-peak.html

I mentioned it above, it was deleted. It was submitted again. Scott mentioned it 3 days ago and it still remains. It has had a few 10 stars too.

Deleted. The bad submissions section probably just got overlooked for a few days because of the other issues we've been addressing.

Didn't get overlooked but was re-created. It's a treadmill, you know ...

I could do a little improvement to this route page. As I unfortunately created a Mettelhorn mountain / rock duplicate (deleted by myself) I could use the work on the route page. User camp-1 was last active april, 18 2008 and did not respond to my email about two weeks ago.

And by the way: it would be useful to attach Chandras Mettelhorn mountain / route page to e.g. Pennine Alps to where this peak belongs.

Thanks to the elves, Michael
