This is another that needs TLC but isn't awful enough to delete. Does anyone want to adopt it? The page has seen no attention for several years.

I could co-adopt Zamarla with someone who's got good pics. I once climbed a nice route on it but that was some 13 yrs ago :)

Do you want the page? The author was last active in March 2009, so I have no problem transferring it to you. You could aways use the existing pictures and add your own textual information.

I haven't got time to complete it immediately but you can transfer it to me and I'll temporarily make it a custom object. Will add some info bit by bit and gladly give editor's rights to any volunteers :)

Don't listen to him. That bum has enough time for it. He doesn't start his new job for almost a month... Transfer both to Kamil. He'll do a good job :D

Oh shit, we're already halfway through the month... Time goes fast when you're having fun...

By the way, adopting two pages does NOT excuse you from heading down south before you start your new job...

I would be more than happy to adopt those four Bieszczady pages, and either transfer them to my flatmate Ania if she signs up, or work together with her to make them better.

Thanks for offering. The owner was active as recently as August 30, so I would ask you to contact him first. He may be willing to transfer the pages. If not and he doesn't want to improve them, we can proceed from there.

While those pages aren't good, they don't seem bad enough to outright delete unless the information is wrong or stolen. Is that the case on any of them?

Look Bob,

The owner has never replied to my comments. I'd rather you split the job between Proterra and LukZem, a prolific newbie I've already worked with on a few SP pages. AFAIK As soon as he registered about three months ago, he tried to get the "owner's privilege" for one or two of the above, but to no avail. I guess Proterra and LukZem could share/split the job as it's a bit more than one page.

Cheers,
Jacek (NOT of the Bieszczady :D)

Probably a better idea, I know Ania has Halicz, and I'm not sure about Tarnica. She has spent considerable time (>3 months) in Bieszczady P.N. and I'm quite sure she's done Krzemieniec because I've seen pictures of that.

Besides giving my flatmate the incentive she wanted to join SP, this will actually get me a very good excuse to head out east instead of south to explore the area myself :D
If LukZem would be okay with that, I'd say I would like to adopt Bieszczady and possibly Krzemieniec, and transfer Tarnica and Halicz to LukZem.

When pages aren't loading as slowly as they have been, I will take a look. Thanks.

Okay, I went in and changed it to an Area/Range page as some members had said should be done. I also took out the incorrect photo credits. And I deleted all other page histories so he can't restore the incorrect versions.

Now, are you saying information is copied from a book? How much? What parts?

Glad to see another pair of hands to help maintaining SP in good order :)
I have a little request :
Prebischtoris described as being a part of Elbsandsteingebirge.
Sächsische Schweiz is "Elbsandsteingebirge" (Elbe Sandstone Range), but the first isn't attached to the second, and both authors are deaf to this request.
Thanks if you can fix it !
Eric

Please see Moni's reply. You're going to have to work this out with Fred and Moni; they are top contributors here and very knowledgeable, and I am in no position to make a call on this particular issue; I just don't know the terrain at all.

Kamil, Proterra, and Yatsek,

Let me know exactly who wants what. Better yet, how about I transfer all the pages to one of you and then you guys sort it out?

First, though, let me send an email to the page owner who has been active recently and see if he wants to improve his pages. I'll tell him that there are others willing to adopt and improve the pages. I believe it's only fair to notify an active member first and give him a choice.

Bob,

I'd like these pages to look up to the mark, so I just wonder if you could convert them into custom objects. IMO such an elf enforced CO should mean suspension, say three months, during which other parties get a chance to produce a decent page.

BTW I'm sure Kamil will be the right guy for Zamarla Turnia, and IMO the Bieszczady pages could be shared by/divided between LukZem and Proterra.

Almost everything is from the book "Piatra Craiului by Emilian Cristea" just in romanian. Also the romanian site carpati.org copied from the same book but at least they mention this, check here: http://www.carpati.org/ghid_montan/munt ... rezentare/

Its is not a problem if you have sources books, of course is hard to do an area page of a mountain from your head if you are not a specialist. I used books also but I mention when I done this and also I wrote about from my experience too, cause you know sometimes things changed and the books are old  .

Another thing is that he copied too many things that are too boring, too much writing about not interesting things and in my opinion and not just mine in the same time incomplete.

Plus the great bear is from other mountains.
