I agree with your post with one exception.

This trip report could just be boiled down to a summit log. If the author wants to keep this as a TR, I've provided suggestions. Perhaps it's "custom object" time.

Why do Trip Reports need to meet you standards to be a Trip Report? Not everybody is a writer and not every adventure needs a huge report.

Thanks, Sarah.

1: We'll see if and how the person responds to your comment. I agree with Jason that not every TR needs to be an epic recount, but I also agree with you that the one in question falls far short of being necessary or acceptable and that it's really no more than a log entry. Just a few pictures would help.

2. Yesterday, I sent the author a message, and he has responded. The page is now a custom object with the low votes removed.

3. Deleted.

I'm pretty sure this was just a mistake by a newbie, she wanted to "sign" the summit register?

That's one point I disagree with. I understand the load of work you have as an elf, but this way the thin line of 'justified damage' can be pushed to our will.

Recently, I found some broken links and missing pictures on a page of mine, apparently because the person's profile had been deleted at some point. I went in, made some quick fixes, and all was fine. So I really don't see why this is much of an issue. Then again, I almost always use the SP-provided formatting instead of making elaborate charts, so such changes are easy to do for me.

However, I'm not looking to needlessly make hassles for people, especially folks like you who have been very supportive and have helped me quite a bit so far. Therefore, going forward, I won't delete an inactive account that has pictures unless I can easily tell that the pictures are only attached to the bad pages in need of deletion. However, I will reserve the right to this exception: if the person has some ridiculous amount of empty pages and deleting them one by one is going to take a long time, the account is going to go. And I'll have to use my best judgment on what a "ridiculous amount" is.

Fair enough?
I can see Bob's point...already from the start, I have decided to only then create mountain or area pages if I'm really sure that I've got enough photo material of my own to make the page "live" even if there aren't any attachments from other members...and I can see by what I'm reading here on this blog that it's for a good reason...!

Thanks. I asked her to delete it since a Grand Canyon page already exists or to write a trip report if she wishes. If she does not respond we will zap it in the next few days.

New user... I wonder if sometimes the title of this site doen't mistake newcomers... summitpost sounds like a summitlog, or something like that... people sometimes post new peaks or areas as they visit them, like logging some book...
