neat story! it's fascinating how people's bodies are so able to adapt to their lifestyle and environment. blue ridge outdoors did a really similar story on the tarahumara runners of mexico, and how their way of life has enabled them to become such powerful long distance runners.

If you're interested in the running prowess of the Tarahumara Indians, you might enjoy reading the book called "Born to Run" (A hidden tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World has Never Seen) by Christopher McDougall.
