Question

I almost hate to ask this, because I feel like I'd be letting my condition win, but, I am getting interested in rock climbing, and feel like it needs to be asked. I have a few conditions, which may, or may not impair my ability to climb. I have a frontal lobe injury, from an accident, when I was a kid. This also resulted in depression, and seizures, both of them, I have gotten under control, so I dont think they would be that big of a problem. Has anyone with similiar conditions, ever climbed before?

Make sure your climbing partners know about the seizures. For one thing, you don't want your partner to freak out and panic if your eyes roll back or whatever happens. For another, you don't want to be suddenly unable to catch your partner if he falls. Do you get any warning before a seizure? Is it more likely if you're stressed, scared, tired, dehydrated? I'm thinking about things that can go wrong when you're halfway up a big cliff... but that's a ways in the future if you're just "getting interested". Try it and see if you like it before you worry about what limits you need to impose on your adventures.
