Amen. Sadly, those who are too busy doing other things besides spray about their accomplishments here (and who said SP was the litmus test for Real Climbers other than the few old farts who don't have a Real LIfe?) are considered frauds and those with big mouths are considered the Real Thing.

I'll never get it and that's probably a good thing.

I have nothing against a bunch of dirtbag rock climbers driving their subies in the Sierras.

But, doesn't this thread sound a bit like the "California" thread?

I think that's why so many were saying "their area" was best, because they were hearing
so much about California, and "so less" on other areas.

Should I post another wrestling picture ???

change em every 2 years, if you buy good ones. 8)
wires, cap, and router, every other plug change. 8)

change that oil every 3,000 miles or die! (this is most important in Japanese cars.)

And one day, I think that the WRX, turbo motor, (right otta shortimers ride) will fit right into the Van.

Giant camshafts! And horizontally opposed pistons make for a VW sound. Now add an exhaust system and all your friends will be jealous.

But it's looking more like ArCee dot n00b every day, and that's not a compliment. Their community forum was ripe with tangential rip-offs posted by people trying really hard to be clever and cute. It's already the mode d'emploi here and you know what happens once a precedent is set...

It got old reeeeallllly fast. And their Community forum equated to SP's PnP and now Ethics, Spray and Slander as well.

Soooooo, I say we just get rid of the durned thing. Anything unmoderated, regardless of topic, belongs in the skanky version of PnP. Post pics of Boobs galore there (and don't forget Gee DoubleYah as one of them) and I won't get involved in that boyhood slagheap.

This monster really needs to go before it gets more publicly stupid than it already is.

JMHO.

Marthia.

Looking at your profile and history.....

You are obviously Not a Climber by any stretch of the imagination.

No disrespect intended, because everybody on SP at least gets out and suffers some and that will make you one of the tribe. Suffering is something I have a deep understanding of.

One of the things I really love about SummitPost is the wide-open, free flowing discussions we engage in.
Real climbers sometimes engage in esoteric discussions and these can become quite heated.

Many times folks on SP, who are not really “Climbers” Jump in and complain about the tenor and tone of these posts.

I hoped that this would be the place where someone like me, could engage in deep talks with other Rock Climbers about the real serious issues that bind and divide us.

I hope after the initial “newness” wears off this will be such a place.

You don’t need to be involved with anything we wish to talk about on this forum.

Have a nice day.

Guy Keesee

MarthaP.

I deeply regret writing what I wrote about you.

Going to your web site, I see you do indeed suffer and enjoy adventures.

I sometimes get frustrated with “fake climbers” here on SP. When I see a profile with no contributions to the general knowledge, I assume it’s fake.

I was wrong.

I am sorry.

I believe that is a good thing. Yes, if you say something loud enough, many times over and over, the general populous, whether it be this board or mainstream, buys it, thus the modern structure of current day marketing/advertising. How GW Bush won the Presidential primarily in 1999 and two general elections thereafter, to everyone's amazement who actually knew the guy.

Guy,

'mgosh. I hadn't expected this and am really humbled by the gesture.

I understand exactly where you're coming from as I've been in your shoes.

I'm grateful for your generosity and accept the apology, bury the hatchet, and hope to cross paths with you some day. You can teach me more than a few things about climbing 5.hard.

Ciao,
Martha

Thank you.

Good luck with your 14ers.

This winter, JT. I have some pretty wild friends, the climbing is fun. Please pm or look for us.

Hugs and peace.

Thanks and I really appreciate the generosity of your invitation! There's every likelihood I'll do that, if you can handle an old broad with creaky knees. I'm a hell of a good campsite cook, though, and can perhaps make up for all that with a load of pasta and wine.

Mmmmmm, JTree and starry nights. Mmmmmmm.
