All of the b-day parties at Rockreation-Costa Mesa involve kids less than ~11 years old and they generally end up smearing cake frosting all over the traverse wall. I hope you didn’t smear too much frosting on those 57 laps  Congrats on burning off the Crisco and getting 57 laps 8) Happy B-day Guy!

My swing dance with sinusitis over the holidays caused me to punt on my b-day challenge. Maybe I should go for a belated b-day challenge at the gym – I’ll need to get a big ol’ cake just to bribe a series of belayers

Screw the Whitney permit area, go up and do Rest And Be Thankful on Langley from Tuttle Creek.

Hey Guy, I am ready. I am down 8 pounds since we started this thread. Only 9 more to go to get in full B&Y fighting shape. Since I think my partner is going to drag me up the thing this August I had better be in some badass shape and walk the thing. I would just hate to 'fail to represent!'.

..... you get P1? Your partner is busy hitting the local raves and such.... so it is with youth.

Jan if you drop 9 more you will disappear if you turn sideways....

this weekend looks to be sunny. Anything going on?

I have dinner and drinks Saturday night with friends so I guess I will climb locally that day, maybe the Apes Wall if it stays cool.

9 more pounds gets me back to where I was 3+ years ago when I was floating everything but I figure I will be stronger now because I am used to hauling 17 more pounds around!

Nope; from the Whitney Lotto Application:
“Entry via North Fork of Lone Pine Creek is NOT in lottery (access to Mountaineer’s Route, East Face /Buttress, Mt. Russell), can be reserved 6 months in advance”

You still need a permit (either overnight or dayhike) to enter the Whitney Zone via the North Fork, but quotas only apply from May 1 to Nov 1

Here’s the link to the Whitney Lotto Application

One day C-C goes in the Whitney Region are can do open game for me... permit no problema.

Secret Gems are all Trad .10's that you are more than capable of doing with ease.

ShortTimer wrote:I heard a rumor that Guyzo was gonna quit drinking beer for a while to trim down to his 'fighting weight'. So I am taking bets on how long he can go without drinking significant quantities of beer. I would not expect a total elimination so I wouldn't even try to bet on that. While we're at it, we could also take guesses at the total amount of weight that will be lost.

Who's playing?

How 'bout we shift the odds and see how long he goes with out 'Lettuce'??

4 to 1 odds, he makes it to Memorial Day weekend.

Guyzo......you wanna drop another 10 lbs, join me on some climbs.....like a few cycling laps up Nine Mile Canyon. Hell, the Death Ride or Son Of Death will drop you 5 to 7 pounds in one session.

BTW, Pat Brennan and crew (including Deb and I) will be up at New Jack Silly this Saturday. Wunna join up?

Dave ..... sounds like fun.

Is Pat going to climb?

Is he down with the challenge?

The "Lettuce" doesn't add any lbs, but it sure can derail your diet, you know.

Just say no - to Ben and Jerry's.....

Still waiting to see about this weekend, The "Kids" keep wishing for a Rincon trip, but they back out on Thursdays...... going to go send some messages and see whats up.

late

See, if its any place I've made weak excuses about getting out to, that would be Rincon. Kris has offered to "show" me around. I DO wanna go. This time of the year seems ideal. I would consider it now but I'm already commited to the NJC gig with that gang and then I'm off to Fort Worth this Sunday for 3 weeks on business.

Yep, Pat does climb and we will probably be at the THE most popular area out there. :x Yep, you guessed it.....Boy Scout Wall. As for the challenge, Pat's heart meds keep his weight on the heavy side. Yeah, he hates it. I'll PM you after thus blurp.
