I dunno, if I'm going to the trouble of getting outside and expending energy to get to the top of something, then I probably enjoyed it.

In December I did a solo snowcamping trip in Sequoia National Park from Lodgepole up to Mt. Silliman. It was mostly snowshoeing. I put crampons on for a short bit of it near the summit. I would consider it kind of slog, in that it was mostly walking. But the views were excellent and I would much rather have done that than sat in front of a computer all day

Yes, I'm a proud peakbagger. Slogging up peaks to enjoy the view is what I do, and I enjoy every moment of it.

I think I can honestly say, I have never been bored out in the Mountains. Even sitting in a tent all day while waiting for a storm to pass, I rather be there than anywhere else. (Ok, sometimes I wish I had Hottest Chick Alive thread with me)

I make list and cross stuff off. But I can't recall ever being bored. Maybe because I bushwhack up Mountains that I think the trail is to easy to do.

I prefer the snow slog any day over the sand, scree and talus slog.

Looks like there are not many people around enjoying a good snow slog. I expected Silliman a little more popular in winter since it is quite easily accessible. Some photos here.

I didn't even know TheOrglingLlama was into the outdoors. I always assumed he (or she) was a creepy forum stalker who likes to display their llama fetish with pride.
