Next climbing challenge is Mustagh Ata, finally!!!

Next big hike is the GC r2r2r.

Next backpacking trip is the AT within the Shenandoah Natl Park (105 miles).

Almost forgot Why? I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment.

Bounce around on objectives based on weather since I climb full time. But my next area in the lower 48 after working out most of Zion-St. George-Red Rocks is Black Canyon-Ouray and Moab. Excited for the change. Guess I am truly a vagabond.

Well, stay away from Frank and Eugen, who can't really speak German, and who would probably lie to you about everything else too.

The Orgling Llamas you can trust.

Kudos Rob. Outstanding the way you have come through everything. Very impressive in my opinion.

Obviously we're a bunch of "...cyber geek armchair climbers rarely do any sort of real climbing." or we'd be up poaching Chief's FAs.

  That truly is an atrocious attempt at German- furchtbar! Swiss Arete, Rob?? Props! That is a great climb, huh?

To remain on-topic, my next planned "climb" is of mighty, 8,372 ft. Mt. Ingalls. Why? Because it's the Plumas county highpoint.... What an affliction- I can't wait until this is over...

I'm waiting for Chief to finish his FA's so I can go put up 2nd. There's no greater honor than to climb Chief's lines.

Thanks all :) Dirk, it was a really enjoyable route. It was a good feeling to not only have led the crux pitch, but to have swapped leads with a partner who is becoming more skilled and experienced himself.

re: the other dudes - We were a pitch or two below the summit when we heard voices. My guess is that they came up the west side .. we hadn't seen anyone in the L-shaped couloir all morning, and there was nobody else at Gayley Camp. By the time we got up to the summit they were gone.

Good luck everyone on attaining your goals -- "nothing worthwhile is ever easy".

You found a rope gun for Bachar-Yerian? You must have done something right in your prior life. Better hope he doesn't fall on you.

This will actually be my third partner that has been capable of leading that thing. I have indeed be fortunate in my climbing career to climb with so many great climbers. It's only bad timing that I have not had the good fortune to have been dragged up this thing before.

And there is no way in hell either one of us is falling on this thing!

I was a young punk hanging out in Camp 4 when Wolfgang Gullich tried and failed to repeat B-Y and Thierry Renault took a 50-footer and busted his leg. Given that Wolfgang had repeated Grand Illusion (5.13c) that same summer but had to back off B-Y, the scope of the route's difficulty seemed really clear.

Good luck and have fun!

My modest goal is to be able to scramble a 12 or 13er in the Sierra this year. For some reason, regardless of fitness, the last 2 years I've struggled down sick as a dog even from 10-11,000' the first day from sea level. By the 2 or 3rd day I'm better but kinda afraid to be miles out at altitude and start getting sick and hafta drag myself back feeling like shit. But with 3 or 4 days acclimation I should be good to go.
