This season I've been checking out the taquerias after climbing. Some places that I've enjoyed in Cali are -

  • Bishop -- Taqueria Los Palmas, nice after the Palisades for example
  • Lee Vining -- Mono Mart, not really a taqueria, but they do have reasonably-priced "Monoritos" in case you are not up for $$$ fish tacos at the Whoa Nelli Deli :D Great on ice climbing trips.
  • Madera -- Taqueria Maranatha, spicy hot burritos after climbing at Tollhouse Rock. Monoritos wish they were this good 8)
  • Oakdale -- Taqueria El Agave, great after the Valley or Tuolumne

What are your fave post-climbing burrito places ?

Roberto's Chicken/Beef Special in Mammoth, weighs over 2.5 lbs and is only 7.99.

It's been a while, but I remember a gas station on the east side of the road in Big Pine. (Insert puns about "gas station.")

Ugh! I don't know if that llama is any better!

+1 to Rob's Oakdale recommendation.

Going to commit a SP felony here and diverge from the OP.

Post climb nothing better for me than a milkshake at Mono Cone. Love the blackberry one myself. I owe The Chief one for recommending the place to me.

Shouldn't you be on a diet?

Why?

Still doing the local 10-15 mile hikes, 3X's a week 5 mile runs and maintaining a solid 160 at 9%BF.

Hell, I scampered over 7 miles of Rush Creek yesterday hunting Wild Brownies in the rain/sleet.

My two favorite places on the Eastside. A chicken burrito from Mono Mart is good for a whole day of ice in LV... pre pipe fixing. :x
