Key West is great, been there twice. Quite the party town and Buffett tunes are played in all bars, they have a "titty bar", great reefs for snorkeling and diving, a great cigar company.

That girl looks like she's 14.

Not that there is anything wrong with it?

Hang on ... you might NOT want to thank me so fast. Here's the WORST place for an SP'er to live ....

Unless, (of course), you have one of THESE nearby.

I live in Southeast Texas(Beaumont) and about all this area is good for is fishing. I just made an 18 hr drive straight from Leadville and won't do that again. If I lived in Austin or the Dallas area it would be nice because I'd be closer to West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, etc.

I'm sitting in Florida right now on business travel. I feel like I am getting fatter by the hour. The local girls appear mostly uninteresting and slutty. The seafood hasn't been that good. There are too many old people. There are no mountains or cliffs or anything. My hotel room reeks because the humidity gives my clothes the worst smelling BO I have ever encountered after I go on my runs. The beach isn't that great here. The redneck riviera is depressing. I agree with the original poster.

I've lived all over the U.S., from Florida to Seattle, from Los Angeles to Boston, and from Colorado to West Virginia, from New Mexico to Michigan.

In my humble opinon, the worst place to live in the U.S.A. is Texas, whether you are a climber or not. That place is full of Texans!

Florida is a great place! If I moved to Florida again, I'll happily give up climbing for the babes, scuba diving and cave diving

That's one old video of Jimmy, but great stuff. I've seen him about 20 times over the years. Always a great show. Happy songs, BS songs, real life songs and dreamin' songs.

Does Florida formally recognize Space Mountain as a peak now? I agree Florida is the worst place for an SPer to live. Scuba and the Everglades do not matter since we are talking about the worst place for an SP'er to live. Last time I checked there were no dive forums on this site. Other notable issues with Florida are that the women of Florida only like Metrosexuals and every man in the state other than us SP'ers are at the very least Metrosexual, 70% of the state is a retirement community and they have not been properly instructed on how to use a ballot, and lastly they can't even find 12 mentally competent residents to construct a jury.

Yeah I would have to say FL is the worst place to live if your into mountains. I would even have to say Texas is better than PA where I live. I do plan on moving in the next 2 years, no worries it won't be Texas.

I have been to Texas a few times and enjoy the desert peaks. Don't have much experience with the locals though...

Just watch out, when you say Texas you are talking about an area that would cover 3 states anywhere else. The very worst place must be Houston, Texas. 10 hours drive to reach West Texas which has the good stuff you are talking about. I'll bet you could reach the Gorge in VA or the Gunks quicker than that up there in PA, getting a chance at vertical fun much more often overall. Of course if you are a geologist or a teacher or somebody who can live in the middle of nowhere, then West Texas would be great, indeed!

I had a job offer in Florida at the end of the 90s, after thinking "what on earth would I do here?" I fortunately turned it down - I now live in a much better place.

One time, a Texan once told me THIS would be one hell of a place to lose a cow. (I'd like to live here just the same.)
