Acclimate
Become accustomed to a new climate or to new conditions

Definitely go with acclimate. Acclimatize just sounds stupid.

Am used to using 'acclimatise', have only heard 'acclimate' by US folks. Sounds odd to me

I've always heard acclimate used for getting used to the climate of an area (e.g. acclimating to hotter temps or acclimating to winter).
