Purge Day at SuperTopo Forum

On Thursday, February 9th, 2012, a few highly active members of the SuperTopo forum were deleted. The next day, the owner-operator of the site posted this response: http://www.supertopo.com/climbers-forum ... ours-Video

One of those deleted was a person who has been a very active and valuable contributor to this web site. Though he has personally insulted me several times, I hold no grudge and value the climbing related content he has provided here and elsewhere. I was surprised he was cut when there were others more worthy of purge who did not get the ax. Must have been something he said in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wanted to start this thread to see if those who participate in both sites wish to make a comment here.

Okay, so who got chopped at Supertopo?

Seems you gotta be pretty obnoxious to get banned from an internet forum. Has everyone forgetten about civility?

I think any moderation of forums is garbage, and as long as people are not posting photos that are NSFW or encouraging hate/violence, the content should stay as is. Participants drive the forums, let them do what they want with it.

More internet drama, people need to get their priorities straight.
