I just wanted to check in, read the last 100 or so posts, and say hi.
Great seeing so many ramping up their highpoint adventures in the summer season.
After last October in North Carolina, Cypress and I haven't climbed anything else. We have tentative plans to climb one or two from a list of SC, Ga, and Tenn- the last of what is traditionally considered the Southern Appalachians (though for my money Cheaha in Alabama should also count, as it is at the bottom of the range). Her schedule is as busy as mine now, but we have agreed to climb at least one or two a year even in off years, to keep some kind of momentum going.
We may save Tennessee for next year because I think the Highpointers Convention is there next year. So hopefully we will do SC and Ga this year. I have been at 24 HP's since last summer and would like to finally get to halfway!

Yes, the Highpointers Convention is in TN next year. This year's is in ME.

They are fine. I might have walked on snow for a few feet maybe 3 times. I could of avoided it if I wanted too

Doogie / Hotoven - good to see you guys still banging out highpoints - and doing so in an impressive manner!
FYI all: The Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville to Mt Mitchell State Park is
closed. Plan your trips accordingly. There is a detour route described in the article below.
"Rangers are installing detour signs and advising northbound drivers to exit the parkway at U.S. 70, take Interstate 40 east to N.C. 221 near Marion, all the way to the parkway. This route takes about an hour and a half."

Took down Rainier last Thursday for #46. The winds were so strong that our whole team was blown down numerous times. Park service was forecast 18F and sustained 40mph winds (with stronger gusts) approaching the summit that night.

I don't think I've posted here yet, but hey, why not...
I'm at 34, after knocking off ID/ND/WI/IA on a long roadtrip that included a lot of non-state HPs last month. I may get around to Harney this fall, and have Rainier, Hood, and possibly Kings on the docket for next summer. Here's what's left*:

I added the benchmarks for Black Mesa, Taum Sauk Mtn., Cheaha Mtn. and Campbell Hill.
On a separate note...we visited the Illinois highpoint Charles Mound on August 3rd and had a chance to visit with several other Highpointers.

Here are a few photos of the Pearson Hill benchmark in Wisconsin. It reads "Elevation 1950.447'" Timms Hill is listed as 1951'. If I wanted to be sure I would visit both.

Completed the Great Lakes high points last week! Eagle Mountain was beautiful, and the views from the radio tower at Timms Hill were fantastic. Mt. Arvon was a little anti-climactic for me. My family is up to eight high points together, and I have completed nine total.
