This has probably been mentioned before, but what mountains are on your list to climb, and why?

7 Summits as a future goal possibly (I'm a long ways off). I just see it as one of the most challenging things you could do as a mountaineer, other than the 14 8000'ers, and the second seven summits as I've heard that they are much harder.

But hell, I just want to climb and learn right now. In a few years my priorities will probably change.

Pretty much all of the peaks on my list are really an option for me anymore because I'm old and a wuss and have a family to support:

The Eiger, N. Face
Ama Dablam
Bhagiraithi III
Alpamayo
Cerro Torre

At least there are some nice peaks I'll probably still be able to do:
Mt. Chamberlin, N. Face
Incredible Hulk
North Pal
Thunderbolt
Long's Peak, the Diamond
Mt. Sill
Milestone Mt.

Thank God for the Sierra Nevada.

Yeah, it's pretty much an act, though most days it doesn't feel nearly as easy as it used to. For me, it's more of a time vs. an age issue, which makes that middle age spread more of a creeping concern. The spark is still there though. Those few occasions I do get out, I can feel it.

Some ones that would seem attainable when/if I make time would be Matterhorn (Zmutt ridge), Mt. Blanc, Pt. Walker, Longs (the Diamond). There are a few others that are dreams, but I won't say them as not to taint the possibility :)

In addition to those on fatdad's list of classic climbs I'd love to do if I were younger, single and had a lot more time to train and climb, but doubt I will, I'd add Trango tower and Mt. Robson by one of the hard routes. All the climbs on that list sound much interesting to me than any of the seven summits except for Denali, which I'd like to do some time by a less traveled route (e.g., West Rib, or more in the do-it-if-I-were-younger-and-had-time-to-be-more-honed category, Cassin Ridge).

And while not a peak as such, a dream climb would be Widow's Tears in Yosemite

A big climb I'd like to do and may actually do when/if I have the time is the Palisades traverse (though probably would do it piecemeal). Also I'd like to spend a lot more time in the North Cascades and go to the Bugaboos someday.
