I'm currently developing my first website for fun (fun is a relative term), and wanting to know what the community might be looking for in terms of features. Personally, I tend to use three or four websites for my information and would not mind having it all in one place. Thoughts? Ideas? Anyone interested in beta-testing some features?

I'm not looking to replace summitpost.org as I feel it is a great site, but would like to learn web development through contributing to something I have some passion about - climbing.

I enjoy informative articles and photos of mountains, ranges, and routes. I like to read about other people's impressions of climbs that I intend on doing as additional research

Thanks for the ideas. I have a couple ideas that I'm playing with already, probably nothing too exciting, but having fun with the coding, etc. You're all probably right that there's nothing I could do better than what already exists, but its a fun project none-the-less.

The best websites are those that are continually updated with trip reports and videos or slideshows of challenging and out of the way climbs. Good pictures are also great. Links are also worth having as they increase visitors to your site.
