I saw it happen in "real-time" on TV. A guy in the Arctic took a gulp of some hot soup out of a Thermos flask and 4 of his front teeth split and broke.

Absolutely no change in what I eat summer vs. winter. Perhaps foods higher in fat and calories but that's really 'bout all.
If anything, I just stowe everything in chest pockets.

It would make sense about the teeth shattering, just like if you take a frozen glass plate (put a plate in freezer) and then remove it and expose it to extremely hot temps and it will shatter in your hands. Would make sense, teeth are indestructible after all, I chipped one of my front teeth in my teens when I took a nasty spill over the handle bars of my bike and had my jaw break my fall, been chipped ever since.
