Sorry, I'm busy buying a jeep to drive up Ojos del Salado.

Thinking about getting a helicopter drop off at the summit. Anyone want to go in on this with me? It will eliminate all the boring hiking and climbing stuff and we'll be back in time for the buffet. Let me know!

You jest, but I have done just that. Skinned up the Glade Trail and bivied at about 8000' on the Zig Zag Glacier, and humped the split up to the summit the next morning.

The Real real real climbers ride a bike from Portland to timberline, and sleep in the climbers cave. The next morning they climb the Wyeast route, and ride their bikes home the same day.

(I am not this crazy, but read a TR on CC.com of a couple of guys that did just that.)

Those guys were a bit, "crazy," weren't they? All relative, of course, but, as I recall, they went very late in the season, Aug, or Sept. and, I think one guy fell into a crevasse, or some such. . . A bit radical.

Yeah right... real climbers start in China, paddle all the way up the Columbia R, hike from shore to top of Mt. Hood.

Where will all this bragging end?

Can't one enjoy a nice day in the mountains without trying to be macho?

I just stated that I have climbed the mountain from Govy. Who cares. There is a ski lift that takes you to 8500'. People ride it all day in the spring. It's not like Mount Hood from the South Side is some sort of rarely climbed peak. If they would let you, some people would snowmobile to the hogs back...

People used to summit St. Helen all the time on Snowmo's until the FS closed off the worm flows route to the machines.

Now, maybe if you start at Barret Spur or Tilly Jane or something like that, then I guess that is different.
