These two are my second cup of coffee every frkn day.

Single, they are some of the Best REAL CLIMBERS today. Together, they truly are the best climbing partnership out there. They do it all...anywhere... anytime!

Enjoy!

HUBERBUAM!

PS... Please take note at what shoes/boots they are climbing 5.11+ in. Unfkingbelievable!

wow

Stemming a chimney in your ice boots. But you'd hardly want to change in to rock shoes in Antarctica.

I wonder if they had to bolt up the camera guy to make that.

Nope... Heinz Zak is the camera guy. The name speaks for itself!

That's a great video! Interesting musical setting too, almost melancholy.

The hooking shots are rad. Where did you get the 5.11+ grade from, all the free climbing looked pretty reasonable albeit strenuos.

Perhaps the photographer and his crew took an easier way up and dangled from above to get those clips?

It is inspiring to see all of what HUbers have done, truly living out their dreams. Awesome!

Opps.... actually 5.10+ A4. Mispost. The FA they put up the following week was 5.11+/A2.

"The Huber Brothers ascended the 750-metre high West Face, but had to put their free climbing ambitions on hold due to the glacial temperatures. "It was very, very cold”, Thomas Huber says, “but despite these extreme conditions our first ascent of the West Face was a gem: “Eiszeit” (“Ice Age”), 24 pitches, difficulty up to 5.10+ and technically up to A4”.

Anyone here do the proverbial 5.10+ and A4 in Sportiva BATURA's?

5.9 easily becomes 5.11 in those things.

Only these two dudes.

Very cool but it's not the boots but the slippery track suits that are the true crux :)

Thanks for posting. Those guys are very cool indeed. I met them in the Yosemite Lodge cafeteria one morning a few years ago (think it was when they were going after the Nose record), & they were really nice. Spoke with them for a few minutes, & they were totally cheerful, upbeat, & more than willing to talk. Completely the opposite of when I happened to encounter Peter Croft sitting in front of the Mountain Room bar one day, but I digress... I had no idea they knew how to aid (who needs to aid when they can climb 5.15?!), but they seemed like experts!

"Uah, ist des schee..." I agree.

Wow, Heinz Zak too? I'm really amazed by that guy. The routes he put up around here in the Karwendel and Stubai Kalkkögel are often ridiculously hard on runout gear. There is a picture somewhere of him from the early 90s on a vertical wall with just like...2 equalized nuts 20 feet below. Of course it's 5.12 or so...

Great photographer too.

What do you say? BK

When in Rome, do as the peasants do!

The Huber's mingle with the host nation in which they are climbing in and are well known for doing so. As Diggler, mentioned, they enjoy sharing their love & passion for climbing with anyone. Can't do that very well if you stay with those that only speak your language now, can you.

As for Peter being stand offish, that is his normal demeanor and always has been. He is actually very shy and super humble. I run into him and Karin on occasion down in the Gorge or in town and acts the same way there. But, when you do get his attention, man is he one very nice and like I said, very humble dude to speak to.

The Bavarians are like that in Germany too! :D
To a Bavarian everyone else, and I mean everyone else, is a Prussian.
