Can you name an unnamed peak on here?

I was wondering if you can name unnamed peaks and canyons on here. As I know of many unnamed canyons, hills, rocks, and peaks, and would like to post about them, but am not sure how to without a proper name.

To continue in Ejnar’s vein, my absolute favourite: Trango’s Nameless Tower!

But it is important to differentiate between unnamed peaks and peaks named "unnamed" (or similar), such as Peak sans Nom or Nameless tower. :)

More seriously, I think SP is not the place to give a new name for an unnamed mountain, but it may appropriate to post an unnamed mountain together with its altitude, for example “P5430m”, Peak 5430m” or “Unnamed Peak 5430m”. All these options sound good to me. It is also useful if you mention in the name whether the altitude is in metres or in feet, e.g. “Unnamed Peak 5430m” or “Unnamed Peak 5430ft”.

Caelan, as far as peaks go, the convention is "Unnamed [Elevation]". Many, many peaks in the American West (and on SummitPost) are designated this way. But it's really worth doing your best to see if there are any unofficial local names in use; there often are.

Unnamed summits are easy to designate because they have an elevation. Canyons and other features present a trickier question. I'd say that if a canyon is really unnamed, it might be reasonable to come up with your own designation. But I'd recommend being sober and responsible in any such naming, and avoid turning it into your own ego trip. For instance, it would be better to designate a canyon after the nearest named geographic feature than to up and name it Caelan Chasm. And I believe the SummitPost convention is to put unofficial names inside quotation marks.

Just name them after your favorite SP people. We could have like doogie peak, Woodsxc caverns, Hotoven canyon. To bad truchas is already a mountain.
