Yet another Belgian climber killed
Posted: Sun Aug 22, 2010 2:37 pm23 year old Chloé Graftiaux died last saturday after a deadly fall on Peuterey, a mountain on the North side of the Mont Blanc massif.
While descending, a piece of rock broke loose and dragged Graftiaux 600m down.
The Belgian girl was training in the Italian Alps as a preparation for a climbing expedition in India. She was planning to climb 6354m high Bhagirathi III.
Graftiaux was one of the best climbers in the world. Last year she won a third place in the world cup and this year she won four world cup medals, amongs which two gold ones.
