Yesterday I read in this or another thread that all is supposed to go that is more than 1 yr old, no matter inbox or archive. So I started the arduous proces of copying what's important to a word file...

A function to back up it all locally could be a suggestion for a future improvement.

Matt, that's good to know. If I wanna keep an old version for some reason, e.g. the as-adopted version of an adopted page, while editing I've got to remember to delete the intermediate versions so that the one to be kept won't be accidentally wiped out! I think this should be shouted aloud so that all page authors know.

Can it be somehow highlighted? Everyone should know it...

There is already a script that runs every night that deletes all but the three most recent historical versions of a page. If you know of a page that has more than three historical versions, let me know and I'll look into why it has that many.

Here's a page that has WAY more than three. I'd be glad to delete the old historical versions, but it's in the "Gear" section, and there's no way to do it.

Well, this did not work out!

Almost all of my archieved messages older that one year got deleted!

Not me. A few days ago, I archived some messages from 2007, and they're still there.

I still have 44 pages of messages in my archive box dating back to 2006 Perhaps I should clean that mess up some more

On Sunday, I had 11 pages of archived PMs. After the purge, only 2 pages remain. There are a total of 34 PMs left, 19 of which are from the last year, and 15 seemingly radomly taken from older years.

But don't worry, I distrust this kind of activities, so as a precaution I also saved all important PMs on my private computer!


And by the way, there is an Archive Box on the Inbox table, but not on the SentBox table.

Are we not supposed to archive our sent PMs?

Don't worry, as I said I have copies on my private computer. But it would be interesting to hear if anyone else had this experience.

I did the archiving on Saturday and Sunday morning, so it didn't coincide with the purging.
