Yo, Chad a.k.a. "Sport." Why don't we go back to the Ice Ages, when it was FUN being a man, hunter, climber, whatever...???

Thor - you are just goading everyone with big sylable words trying to sound smart, but are actually saying nothing. Almost troll-like. Just taking the anti-point of view for the hell of it. You're better than that, Sport.

Ah, real, tangible numbers from which comparisons can be made and reasonable conclusions can be drawn. Thanks for going to the trouble of compiling that.

Deleted this post, as I had misinterpreted a previous one.

One crisp autumn day in Bizarro World:

HEY, THAT'S LOOKS LIKE A GOOD SHOT! GO FOR IT!
\

I'M NOT CERTAIN THAT'S REALLY A DEER OUT THERE, AND IN ANY CASE I AM NOT SURE OF THE TARGET'S SURROUNDINGS. BETTER NOT TAKE THE SHOT, I COULD KILL SOMEONE.

IT'S NO BIG DEAL, DUDE, IF YOU KILL SOMEONE IT WILL BE PLEADED DOWN TO INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER, YOU'LL PROBABLY BE OUT OF JAIL IN A YEAR OR TWO.

SAY, THAT'S RIGHT! WHO CARES WHETHER IT'S A DEER OR NOT? I'LL TAKE THAT SHOT!

Sometimes climbers get there partners killed. I hear about a lot more tragic climbing accidents than I do hunting accidents.

Such B.S. Such a false analogy too. Climber dies and it's because his partner. I don't think so.

Do us all a favor and give me a single example of your point.

It isn't even a struggle to find examples. I'll give you one in video even.

Or would you rather something more recent with the deaths being a bit closer to innocent volunteers?

Like I said, its surprising to see climbers hurling rocks in their glass house. Climbers, like hunters, kill themselves and others every year (directly or indirectly). Its not intentional for the most part, some is ignorance and some is just plain bad luck. Fortunately neither do it in a significant volume. It may come as a shock to you but most people view climbing as dangerous and ridiculous; the same reaction you have to hunting others have to climbing.

I was day hiking on the AT in PA a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure if it was a bear area, so I was singing out loud as I walked down the trail. Anyway, I came across a hunter all decked out in camo crouched by a tree, looking very serious about his mission. He looked pretty pissed at this singing laughing wierdo freak coming down the trail, and when I saw him I shouted "hey man, don't shoot me!". Needless to say I doubt he saw any deer for awhile!

I'm personally to drunk to tell the difference between a deer or anything else in the woods when I go hunting. In the past I would take a mirror to see behind me but I stopped when I almost shot myself a few years back. I could have sworn I saw horns coming out of my head.
