I love to do both.

Climbing and fishing are both an excuse to be outdoors in beautiful places.

Yvonne Chouinard is both a climber and avid fly fisherman too.

'Tis all about watching the ever changing scenery for me
Climbing the mountains allows you to see a lot of things in a lot of places
Fly fishing lets you settle down and watch the microclimate and smaller things around you

No worries Joe, it IS an honest question. To me, with the stresses of work and home (deadlines, a-hole clents, financial obligations, etc), "keeping my center" means that I can be somewhere I love and doing something that takes my total focus, recharges my batteries, "simplifies/resets" my priorities to where I like them and helps me to regain my "balance". I always return with a more positive attitude.

I have a backcountry fly fishing blog here:

If you're bored (and easily entertained) you might want to visit.

That's cool. Especially the part about going to the mountains (hiking, climbing, fishing) and resetting priorities (as opposed to replacing them) and returning to work and family with a positive attitude.
