The 2011 International Climbers' Meet, back in Yosemite!

Dave Turner here, letting you guys know that the American Alpine Club is holding the fourth annual International Climbers' Meet in Yosemite Valley, from the 26th of September to the 1st of October.
Last year was an amazing success, we had a great turn out of international climbers, AAC staff, and local host climbers. Throw in a few well known climbers, an awesome caterer, helpful NPS staff, and the super-nice Yellow Pines group campsite- All adds up to a great time!
One of the big changes this year is that the event is open to all International Climbers, but also now we are making the event open to all AAC members as well! No need to be from Italy or Slovenia, get away from work for a few days and come join us!
All meals, transport, local host climbers, info, and camping will be provided. The cost of the event is well worth it!

Come join the fun at the 2011 AAC International Climbers Meet Located in the premier American climbing area of Yosemite Valley
The American Alpine Club is hosting its fourth annual International Climbers’ Meet. We would like to extend an invitation to American Alpine Club members to participate in this annual event to be held the week of September 26 - October 1, 2011 in Yosemite Valley. Participants must have some climbing experience but all abilities are welcome to apply. The goal is to host a diverse group of climbing abilities from a multitude of countries.
The fee is $435 per person. Participants provide their own transportation to Fresno, California airport.
Your fee includes:
Pick up Fresno airport September 25 by 5:00 PM local time, drop off at Fresno airport October 2 by 9:00 AM local time.
Transportation in Yosemite Valley
Six nights and days camping at secluded Yellow Pines camp ground
Three catered meals per day
Experienced host climbers to partner with for climbing
Five and one half days of climbing in spectacular Yosemite Valley
One half day of a stewardship project for Yosemite Valley National Park
Nightly campfire for storytelling, socializing, and general carousing
This is the fourth annual International Climber’s Meet, but the first year AAC members will be participating. Last year’s meet was a rousing success. Climbers arrived from more than eight different countries. They enjoyed everything from all day long routes to challenging short climbs with our highly motivated cadre of host climbers including such names as Dave Turner, Colin Haley, Jim Donini, and Chris Weidner. We hope to line up another all star cast of host climbers this year. In the evening, over dinner, beers, and the glowing campfire, tales were told of the days adventures. Don’t miss this opportunity to climb in legendary Yosemite Valley with internationals, AAC members, and four star host climbers!
Deadline for applications is July 15.
Applicants will receive notice of their status by August 1st. Accepted applicants can make payment via PayPal, Check or Money-Order, or via credit card over the phone. Further details will be posted here in July.
