Has anybody gotten their mitts on the new Fred Beckey book 'Fred Beckey's 100 Favorite routes in North America'? It sounds fantastic.

Looks like the book is not available until November (just got a call from Amazon), but can be pre-ordered now (for $20 less than the MSRP). The Fall 2011 Patagonia catalogue (dedicated to Fred Becky) announced the publication of the book.

Yes, it's scheduled for release in November 2011. Beckey has been working on this for several years. Talked about it for many more years. Titled: "Beckey's Black Book: Fred Beckey's 100 Favorite North American Climbs"
I asked him if I can release some teaser info. Still waiting to hear back.
I'm betting this book is going to be a hit, with a lot of climber's starting a new tick list.

Chessler Books is taking pre-orders for signed copies:

Cheaper but unsigned at Amazon:

Thanks. I was aware Fred had been working on the book for some time under the working title 'Sex in High Places'. I guess that was a joke.

I bet the route on Norman Clyde peak he put up will be in that book! That route looks fantastic. Hopefully next year I will be ready for it.

Kinda funny how Chessler "borrows" the "classic poster of famous Fred Beckey published in Patagonia's Fall 2004 catalog" and stamps his watermark on it.
