Hi,
I have an android phone and I am planning to go hiking. I am looking for an App that works well inside woods. If you have any personal experience using an App, please share your thoughts. I have looked at Apps like Maverick, Way point free etc and not sure which one will be reliable.

thanks

I just started using Backcountry Navigator Pro on my Droid phone. Haven't used it long enough to comment on it fully, but the interface is easy to use and intuitive. $10 USD

I've been using Backcountry Navigator pro for a little over a month now.

Works really well. Has pretty much replaced my dedicated GPS. Has downloadable topo maps as part of the program. Couldn't be happier with it.

I was out last weekend and someone had motion x gps on their iPhone- it was off the hook and only 99 cents. I don't know if they got it for Android but check it out.

Like Aran I have used Motion X GPS for iPhone. Just load the maps before you leave 3G coverage. Works pretty well
