Psyched for winter. Bring on the ice, snow, cold, and difficult trailhead access. Less people, no bugs.

Summer is the wasted time between winters! Time to sharpen the ice tools!

Yeah I suppose I am. I am not a geographic location of which I really enjoy the wintertime, though. For the last year.....I am looking forward to spring. Which also means I am graduating in a few months. Future winters I have a feeling I will enjoy more.

For clarifications, it rains abotu 42" annually in Corvallis. THats lame.

After seeing this thread I decided to change my profile picture to "My Self in a Winter Scenery Shot". Ok, it was taken during July, but I love winter a lot, and it most certainly felt like winter considering that it was snowing. Also it had the winter silence in the air as well as the crisp coldness.

My knee didn't hurt while I was skiing. My knee hurt when I was hiking.

I'm already imagining lines covered with snow all over the place here... <sigh>

Got snowed on Saturday on Lamarck Col and I got really excited. I was with a guy who is a fair weather hiker and I think I actually scared him with my enthusiasm.

Also, I bought ice tools this summer, and sometimes my GF catches me just holding them or hooking them onto the tops of door frames. Can't wait to put them to proper use.

Larry,
I suppose this means I have to haul along a 375 H&H Mag when I am skiing this winter?

After devouring my plate of spaghetti,

I dreamed deeply of the Yeti,

Getting it on with snow, ice and blizzards cold.

Nothing can harm this immortal beast,

On the winds of Valhalla, he will feast -

Across endless snowfields, where mysteries unfold ..
