Hello all,

Thanks for all the well wishes. I am back on the internets. The infection destroyed the lenses in my eyes so I was blind for a few months. After a couple surgeries I can see again, although not well. I will need to get bifocals. This disease has taken nearly everything from me and stripped me to the marrow. If I do get better I don't know what will be left of me. Right now climbing is a pipe dream, my biggest hope is being well enough to work again. Be careful out there, climbing is dangerous.

Can you get the lenses replaced? I need readers to see near, but have good vision for distance.

It's a new baseline. Maybe it's not climbing, but there is something that you can do, to keep you absorbed. Make stuff to help with your rehab, or just buy it. Bongo boards, wobble boards. Get books on "tape." Work with dumbells. Now is a time to think of the "other" ways to do stuff. Just don't get bored. You will get more ingenious than you have been before.

Good wishes. I can't say I've been through anything this hard, but I've been through stuff that gave me a whole new perspective.

Glad to hear from your EB! I was getting worried as I hadn't received an email response from you in a while. Sounds like this thing has taken a toll on you, but you sound positive for having so much happen. If there is anything I can do, let me know. Were all here routing for you. I will be praying for you.

(I just thought of you yesterday as I stood on top of Mount Sniktau, I was examining the North Face of Torreys peak and thinking of climbers I could possibly climb it with. My mind wondered to you and I hoped you would be doing well. The next day your on SP!)
