It has snowed about a foot in the last four hours and the worst of the storm has not moved through yet.

Good! Glad some of this storm has made its way south down to Cal.
Mt. Hood is also currently getting dumped on! Again! Talk of snow down to the valley floor here in Portland, but, just talk at this point; more
like a cold winter's rain falling. . . But, I'll take it; snow in the mountains. Powder skiing, baby!

OMG ... think I'm fed up with all the drama on that "other" thread ... time to move on ...

Arizona got a pretty good drenching the last few days, with snow above 4,000 feet. Think my fruit trees made it through okay, however ...

Last Monday, 1.45 inches of precip fell in Pine Valley, much of it as snow. I was unfortunately out of town, but fortunately in Pt Reyes when Wednesday morning we experienced a torrential downpour with loud windy conditions. Our room had skylights, I love the sounds of weather. Pt Reyes needs more rain, I doubt at this rate the steelhead and salmon can make their annual upstream migration.

There's nothing like steelhead and salmon to brighten up your day. I'm planning a trip to Alaska this year, so will hopefully bring back some monsters ..

... of course, I eat everything I catch. I also catch everything I eat.

SF Bay Area has received inches and inches of rain......but looks like more rain and the Northern Sierra is getting rain too. No snow. Maybe by Saturday?

Northern Culebra Range in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains last Saturday. Summit of De Anza Peak.
90 minutes later, I got seperated from my partner in a blizzard that rolled up, white-out conditions that lasted well
into Sunday morning. I had to make an emergency bivy with only a sleeping bag above 12,000ft. Most intense fuck*ing
night I've ever spent outside. Search & Rescue crew were astonished that I was alright and walked the ~12 miles out
on my own.
Rest of the state was enjoying mid-50's. I HATE southern-tract storms.

You might hate those storms, but you'll enjoy those memories!

Winter might have had a slow start, but it also looks to be having a slow finish... got over a foot of snow last weekend in Pine Valley, it is melting rapidly into what measures at over 4 inches of equivalent rainfall! This was by far the biggest of this season's winter storms. More headed this way, although not sure how cold the next round will be.
