Chaberton left also? Damn! That is a shame. :(

About Borut, I know nothing. We were friends on FB, but his account no longer exists. I had an email exchange with Roberto, also to know the reasons for his departure from SP. Its answers - here's the first email - I realized that there is a deep wound, whose origin is to be found in some attitudes here on this page.
Ciao Mihai,
Roberto.

Well, Larry, in fact I don't have so many infos about Roberto's decision to leave SP. Anyway, even if I had more details, I would not do anything without the consent of Roberto. This is quite understandable. Currently, Roberto's only desire is to forget. What? I do not know what, but maybe SP "snipers", those who decide who is "good" member and contributor or who is weak - must have an idea on this issue.

All this talk about weak and great members. Like this member whose participation here I have always enjoyed and respected. Should be great if others could follow their example!

Add to that a certain dose of superiority expressed towards other users outside of North America, combined with lower language proficiency of SP, and maybe we have the answer to a sad and painful question: why people leave, or, worse, why they erase their contributions? Why Lolli is not there anymore? Why HansW is so quiet? Where is Brian the british lover of Snowdon?
Respect for the other should not be limited to give a good note to his article and congratulate him because he is a good writer and talented photographer. Respect also means that we must be careful not to hurt the sensitivities with silly games not necessarily understood by everyone.

Although SP is in my favorite list, I no longer look the same attention as before. When a picture of the day or week like me, I put a link on my FB page. But that's all.

Well, please convey to Roberto that he had only admirers here, no detractors, and he would be welcome back. Otherwise, I hope he saved his material and will post it elsewhere. If he finds another Internet home perhaps, through you, he could let us know where it is.

There are cultural differences that cut so many ways. For example, it's ironic that Roberto identifies with Borut, who seems to have left SP most recently because of an article that he perceived to be too respectful and empathetic toward the WWII Italian military, written by another (?) European named Roberto. There are many things here "not necessarily understood by everyone."

I think that while it is useful to acknowledge why these members left for the purpose of improving the site, it is much more important to "get over it" and start rebuilding the pages that they left. It is up to them to return, and I don't think we can do anything about it. If we could get their pages on the adoption list, I think that would be a good first step.

I second this! With chaberton having left, SP has lost one of it's most engaged and valuable contributors! I absolutely adored his photography, but admired just as much all the articles he wrote dealing with the history and culture of his area, the mountains of Piemont!

Si tu ne sais pas quoi dire, ferme-là ! = If you do not know what to say, shut it!

Really?!?!?! Are you serious?!?! Well, since you put it that way, I think I know now what I need to say.

I really thought these guys were great, and voted on many of their pics and enjoyed their contributions and discussions on this site. But if they, and seemingly you too, can't take a little joke, meant to have a little fun on this site, then tough shit!
Perhaps you should all have a beer to build your confidence, grab your balls out of your wives' purse, rub a little dirt on your personal wounds, and toughen up that skin a bit!
If you can't handle American humor, SORRY! No need to take your ball and go home, is it?

Good lord what a bunch of primadonnas!!! Reminds me of this crybaby member sometimes!!! What is it with all of you people who think you have some sort of "right" to not be offended?
Uhmmm...Butitsadryheat, I just opened the "crybaby" link, and it lead me straight to my profile page! Surely a software mistake somewhere?
