The Guess Who, Running Back to Saskatoon (1972):

"Moose Jaw, Broadview, Moosomin too
Runnin' back to Saskatoon
Red Deer, Terrace, Hanna, Medicine Hat
Sing another prairie tune, sing another prairie tune..."

Also The Beatles, Back In the USSR (1968)- a place so obscure that it doesn't even exist anymore... :)

A Gary Allan song with a lot of references to California.

I-405
Humboldt County
Hollywood sign
Laurel and Vine -- I think he's referring to Laurel Canyon Blvd and Vine St in LA. But these don't intersect. Maybe he's talking about a different Laurel and Vine somewhere. If anybody knows, post it up.

I am going to contravene my own stipulation and throw in a Texas one:

Idalou and New Deal Texas. That is pretty obscure. I still think Jackpot and Adel take the cake though.

A song about the Powder River and a mention of the Bighorn Mountains: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOwYAicz3fk

And one referring to the Franklin Mountains near El Paso, TX: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wjADHXhxHE

Although it's not really west of the Miss, because the river starts south of there, here is another Tom Russell song I ran across about the Mesabi Iron Range in Minnesota: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D6EocyCiZM

Whitefish Bay, MI: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgI8bta-7aw

And for good measure, another that mentions Bakersfield, and acknowledges that all that's left there is a jukebox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4gf7Gs1SCg

Robert Plant, post Zepplin solo, Twenty-Nine Palms.

Oh-oh-oh 29 Palms
I feel the heat of your desert heart
Leading me back down the road that leads back to you.
