Anyone aware of a large map of the mountain ranges in North America that lists the major ranges (Rockies, Appalachians) as well as subranges (i.e. Tetons, Cascades, Coastal Range, Chugah, Brooks, etc, etc)?

Those Raven maps are awesome... I have the CA one. It's huge and everyone likes it!

I've got the CA one as well. I know at least one additional SP member does too, but his wife made him put it in the garage or something. That's not doing it right. Mine is in the living room where I can admire the map's awesomeness, look stuff up at a moment's notice, daydream about trips to the mountains, and encourage my kids to geek out about maps like I do. I really should close that link before I order maps for other western states. The more square-shaped ones would be easier to place in good viewing spots. I notice that the state maps are actually a bit larger than the USA and N.A. maps with great detail at a scale of around 1:500,000 in most cases.

That guy's wife sounds horrid.

^^^Those 3D maps do look fun and would be interesting teaching tools. They remind me of making less accurate and more breakable versions for the whole state in 4th grade and then leading some 4th graders through making the same thing once about 15 years ago. According to my interior design philosophy, having 3D maps would be a good reason to place a large coffee table in the living room.
