Well, not really old... only 47. I have been in the mountains since I was 3 months old. I was born on April 26 and three months later I was camping in the Uinta Mountains with my parents and three older sibs. I've asked, but my parents don't remember bagging a peak during that trip. If I get serious, sometime I'll have to look through 1000s of photo slides my parents have.
The glorious Uinta Mountains are my most roamed area. Other places are Southern Utah (both the Four Corners area and the Zion Nat'l Park area), the Deep Creek Mountains, Southern Idaho and so many other well known places. One place that I have been that I count as rather rare is being flown by helicopter to the peak of Granite Mountain within the area of Dugway Proving Ground, an army installation created one month after December 7th, 1941.
I know I'll enjoy coming here and reading and sharing.
Kind Regards,
James.
