Fred Beckey climbs a few Dolomiti pitches

Aside from the high cost of water and a lack of internet access, he had a good time. My old pal Aidan came out from LA with his camera and a tripod that cost more than my car, so as to make this film of the experience:

One thing kind of amazing to us was that even though Fred moved really slow hiking up to the Cinque Torre, once he got his rock shoes on and started climbing years seemed to drop away from him. He would do these delicate moves like putting one foot around the other one, very quiet and precise.
He hates this mythologizing crap, so I'll shut up before I piss him off too much.
