Dear friends,
The dreaded time has arrived. Paulo Schmidt AKA PAROFES has passed away. Knowing that the end was near, in February of this year, he asked me to write an article about him to post after he is gone. I am honored that he asked me and I will do so very soon. I know that many of you had special feelings for PAROFES, and he was thankful to have so many great friends here on Summit Post. We are grateful to have known him and we will miss him tremendously.
Rest in peace my dear friend, and thank you, Summit Post, for your expressions of love and support.

Even though I knew it was coming it still hurts to know that he is not ever going to post again, to make us laugh and to share his wonderful pictures. At least he isn't in pain anymore.

Now Paulo is at peace my thoughts and best wishes are with Lilliana and his family and close friends. He is already missed by those who didn't know him well - these are very hard times for them.

Rest in peace Paulo. Our small mountain community will certainly miss one of its most accomplished members.

Paulo was a colorful character of SummitPost who offered me help with auto shutters and photoshop tweaking. He is a passionate poster who presented a lot of fun/unique photos to this site.

So very sorry to hear this news. My deepest condolences to Lilliane, family, loved ones and Paulo's many friends around the world. RIP Parofes you will be very much missed but not forgotten...

This is so sad that I don't know what to say now. May I be wrong but I feel like we SPers haven't fight enough for avoiding this tragic end.
